The balance between the advanced coursework and research project components may vary from program to program, with each comprising at least 25 points and no more than 75 points of the 100-point program

Agric.Science Research Project Part 1
This honours research project in the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences aims to develop a student's ability to design and undertake a substantial body of work, to find solutions to a particular problem, and to report on this in written and verbal form. Project definition is completed shortly after commencement of the semester of enrolment in the subject, and requires approval from the subject coordinator. Students will enrol in the 25 point iteration of this subject in one semester and the 50-point iteration in the second semester to ensure they have completed a total of 75 points for the research project by the end of their course

Critical Thinking in Research
This subject will provide students with an opportunity to develop some critical thinking skills that are required for a variety of research activities. These skills will be gained from discussions, and critical evaluations, of some recently published research papers. In their written submissions, students will be required to write succinctly and accurately, while at the same time demonstrate their critical thinking in the set tasks. Attendance at regular research seminars delivered within the Faculty is recommended. Some discussion of the Faculties’ research programs which are relevant to the student’s research project will be expected.
