Hill’s “Buddy” Prize in Small Animal Nutrition
“Buddy” was one of the first guide dogs in the U.S.A. When she developed renal failure, she was one of the first dogs to be put onto a special pet food formulated to manage chronic renal failure in this species. This was the beginning of dietary management of disease in dogs and cats. This prize is awarded to the student who has demonstrated a good understanding of the importance of nutrition in the overall management of disease in dogs and cats.
