Diploma in General Studies opening more doors for students
Current University of Melbourne Bachelor of Agriculture student Carl Young is one of the many who are benefiting.
Carl grew up helping his parents maintain a large market garden growing baby salads at Wemen, 100km southwest of Mildura.
His interest in agriculture was always strong, but his drive to study for a degree took more time to develop.
Carl says his soul-searching from 2010 to 2014 led him back to education.
“I realised agriculture really was what I wanted to do,” Carl says. “I think having maturity, growing up a bit and having more drive to do it inspired me. Studying never came naturally to me.”
