Professor John Fazakerley, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences delivered this public lecture at the University of Melbourne’s Parkville Campus on Thursday 22 September.

In the lecture, Food Security in a World of Infections, Professor Fazakerley addressed a wide range of infectious diseases that threaten the global food supply, from African swine fever, influenza and foot-and-mouth disease to white spot, wheat rust and blight. He also outlined the steps that are being or can be taken in the 21st century to safeguard our food supplies from these infections.
