Veterinary alumni gather in Melbourne for AVA conference

Over 40 University of Melbourne Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) alumni met in Melbourne for a reception during the 2017 AVA Annual Conference

The conference on 4-9 June sees Australian Veterinary Association members meet to hear presentations from international researchers and practitioners, attend workshops, share knowledge and meet new and old colleagues. This is the first time it has been held in Melbourne since 2007.

The evening of Monday 5 June was set aside for alumni events. University of Melbourne staff and alumni met for drinks and canapés at the Boatbuilders Yard on the Yarra River.

Attendees included graduates of the Classes of 1968-2015.

John Fazakerley, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, updated alumni on recent changes to the Faculty and plans for building upgrades in Parkville and Werribee. Glen Browning, acting Head of the Melbourne Veterinary School shared news of the School, former staff and students.

Many thanks to all alumni who joined us!
