The Sustainable Agricultural Production group offers evaluation of microgreens and other crop production for resource efficiency and nutritional biofortification and analysis in a fully controlled vertical farming set-up.
Vertical farming is expected to leverage technology and advanced agronomic practices to boost yields and reduce damage from pests and disease while greatly increasing production per hectare of high value crops.
We have fully controlled growth room set-up for vertical soilless crop production, particularly microgreens and leafy greens. We can offer research to:
- Optimise resource efficiency for each crop, including water, nutrients, light, temperature and humidity
- Biofortify crops to enrich their nutritional profile and post-harvest life.
