FVAS QUOTA SUBJECTS
Several subjects offered by the University have limited enrolment numbers. These 'quota subjects' are usually laboratory or fieldwork subjects where enrolment capacity is limited by available resources. If you cannot enrol in the subject, it may be that the quota has been reached.
There are five undergraduate FVAS subjects in 2019 with a quota:
Study Period Commencement
AGRI10039 Australia in the Wine World
AGRI20030 Australia in the Wine World
AGRI20027 Vine to Wine
FOOD10001 Beer Styles and Sensory Analysis
|AGRI30039 Applied Farm Economic Analysis*||35||July (TBC)||Parkville|
In 2019 the primary selection method into these subjects is ‘first come, first served’. This is the order in which students are formally enrolled into the subjects. Please note this method does not apply to AGRI30039*
Not all subjects are expected to be fully subscribed. A quota selection process will not be applied unless student enrolments exceed the quota limit.
Should a subject reach its enrolment quota limit, the Faculty will activate a process for managing a wait list as follows:
AGRI10039, AGRI20030 and AGRI20027:
- Please email Jacinta Way (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your request.
- For the Semester 2 Parkville offering of AGRI10039, the quota will be run close to the start of semester. Your place isn't confirmed in the subject until after this has taken place.
When you submit the form it is time-stamped. The waitlist will be managed in the order in which completed forms are submitted.
If a place in the subject becomes available (i.e. after another student withdraws from the subject) it will be offered to the next student on the waitlist. Students are notified via email (FVAS quota subject offer) and will be given 48 hours to accept that offer.
A student who accepts an offer to enrol in FOOD10001 will need to complete and submit an Enrolment Variation form (http://ask.unimelb.edu.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/6038) and attach a copy of the FVAS quota subject offer email. This Enrolment Variation form must be submitted within 48 hours of the original offer.
Final replacement offers will be made on Thursday in the second week of semester 1 (i.e. 9 March 2018).
The selection method is based on a student’s performance in AGRI30033 Farm Management Economics and also, if necessary, a student’s performance in the degree to date.
Students will be informed of their place in the program as soon as possible after the final exam for AGRI30033 Farm Management Economics
